美國 - 中國詩與畫展覽 Bruggemeyer 紀念圖書館 二00三年六月一日至二00三年七月三十一日

Bruggemeyer紀念圖書館非常榮幸邀請到隱居的詩人畫家--盧勝彥展出他個人超過二十幅的詩、畫和文物予一般大眾欣賞,並備有中、英文參考資料。
1993年在著名的嶺南派畫家朱慕蘭的指導下,年屆五十的盧勝彥才開始學習水墨畫。嶺南派畫風講求活潑性和創造力,對於傳統的繪畫技巧加入許多新的創意,賦予傳統的中國水墨畫一個嶄新印象,表達出畫家真實的感受和鮮活的精神力量。
盧勝彥在繪畫領域之所以表現出色,歸功於他對於詩的深刻感受。他的詩反映出佛學哲理中的智慧、慈悲、寬恕和平等心。在他詩與畫的世界裡,我們可以激賞到生命的美麗,並在人生的積極面得到啟示。盧勝彥的畫作已收錄進超過十本畫冊,並曾在台灣、澳洲和美國舉辦過多次畫展,此次在Bruggemeyer紀念圖書館的展覽,是他第一次在加州展出。

The Chinese Arts and Poems Exhibition Bruggemeyer Memorial Library June 1, 2003 - July 31, 2003
Bruggemeyer Memorial Library proudly presents the Chinese Arts and Poems Exhibit, featuring the work of the seclusive Chinese artist and poet, Sheng-yen Lu. More than 20 of his paintings, poems and other materials will be displayed for free to the general public. Information will be availabile in both English and Chinese.
Sheng-yen Lu learned inkwash shui-mo painting at age fifty in 1993, under the instruction of the prominent artist Zhu Mu Lan of the Ling Nan School. The School emphasizes renewal and creativity, and focuses on reassessment of traditional techniques and values, organizing them into new images that are expressive of new feelings and a fresh spirit.
Sheng-yen Lu’s exceptional artwork is brought to life by his poems. Based on wisdom, compassion, forgiveness and equanimity, his poems are reflections on the philosophies of Buddhism. Through his world of art and poetry, one can appreciate the beauty of life and become inspired to live life in a positive way. His art has been published in more than 10 books, and exhibitions of his work have been held in Taiwan, Australia and the United States. This is the first exhibition of his work in California.
